Information is often called the lifeblood of business and the ability to gather, process and analyze data can be the determinant factor between its success and failure. Today, hand written documents still serve as one of the most fundamental and reliable ways of capturing information. However, these handwritten paper forms must be transcribed and manually entered into a database or system in order to begin most business applications. In addition, these paper documents must then be scanned in order for them to be available in digital format. This is a complex and time consuming process, prone to human error and unnecessary redundancies.
By utilizing the digitalpaperwork™ process, pen strokes are captured using digital pen and paper forms overlaid with a unique dot-pattern water mark. The digital pen records the pen strokes as coordinates within the unique dot-pattern and transmits them through either a Bluetooth enabled cell phone, or docking cradle connected to a computer via USB connection. These coordinates are then reconstructed to create a pristine digital image of the handwritten form while the data is also extracted through various handwriting recognition software applications. Data input is facilitated utilizing the technology in a non-obtrusive manner.
